2008 Presidential Proof Set- contains 4 Dollars
The 2008 United States Mint Presidential $1 Coin Proof Set™ is the second annual set of an exciting series honoring past presidents of the United States in the order in which they served. The 2008 Presidential $1 Coins feature Presidents James Monroe, John Quincy Adams, Andrew Jackson, and Martin Van Buren on the respective obverses, with a striking rendition of the Statue of Liberty on the reverse. Edge-lettering of the year, “E Pluribus Unum,” “In God We Trust,” and the mint mark sets these coins apart. This set is a shining example of the United States Mint’s commitment to quality and excellence.

2007 Mint Set
The 2007 United States Mint Uncirculated Coin Set® contains two folders of 14 coins each, one from the United States Mint at Denver and the other from the United States Mint at Philadelphia, for a total of 28 coins. Each folder includes uncirculated versions of the following 2007-dated coins: the four Presidential $1 Coins, the five quarters issued in the United States Mint's 50 State Quarters® Program, the Golden Dollar featuring Sacagawea, the Kennedy half-dollar, the Roosevelt dime, the Jefferson nickel and the Lincoln cent. Uncirculated coins are struck on special presses using greater force than circulating coins, producing a sharp, intricately detailed image, and feature the satin finish introduced in 2005. New packaging is introduced for the 2007 United States Mint Uncirculated Coin Set. The coins are sealed in a blister and displayed in a folder. One folder contains coins bearing the “P” mint mark and the other contains coins bearing the “D” mint mark. The coin folders are enhanced with newly designed scenic views of the Philadelphia and Denver areas.

The 2007 United States Mint Silver Proof Set includes 14 coins, each bearing the S mint mark of the United States Mint at San Francisco. In addition to the four new Presidential $1 Coins honoring the past Presidents of the United States: Washington, Adams, Jefferson and Madison, it also contains all five quarters from the 50 State Quarters® Program for the year Montana, Washington, Idaho, Wyoming and Utah as well as the Lincoln cent, the Jefferson nickel, the Roosevelt dime, the Kennedy half-dollar, and the Golden Dollar featuring Sacagawea. Distinguishing this collection are the dime, half-dollar and five commemorative state quarters, all of which are produced in lustrous 90% silver.

2007 Mint Proof Set
The 2007 United States Mint Proof Set® includes 14 coins, each bearing the S mint mark of the United States Mint at San Francisco. United States proof coins are extraordinarily brilliant, with sharp relief and a mirror-like background. Their frosted, sculpted foregrounds give them a special cameo effect. Proof blanks are specially treated, polished and cleaned to ensure high quality strikes. The blanks are then fed into presses fitted with hand-polished dies and struck at least twice to ensure sharp relief. The coins are then packaged in presentation cases to showcase and maintain their exceptional finish.

2007 Presidential Proof Set
A new series of $1 coins honoring the Presidents of the United States in the order that they served began in February 2007. To commemorate these historic coins, the United States Mint is striking and issuing a set of four Presidential $1 Coins per year in proof condition. Images of the first four presidents, Washington, Adams, Jefferson and Madison, appear on the obverse of the first set in 2007. Each coin has a reverse design featuring a striking rendition of the Statue of Liberty. These coins also feature edge-incused inscriptions of the year, "E Pluribus Unum," "In God We Trust" and the mint mark. The size, weight and metal composition of the new Presidential $1 Coins are identical to that of the Sacagawea Golden Dollar. This set is a shining embodiment of the United States Mint’s commitment to quality and excellence.

This set enters its ninth year honoring the states in the order in which they were admitted into the Union. The set features designs including Montana’s Big Sky Country, Washington’s The Evergreen State, Idaho’s Peregrine Falcon, Wyoming’s The Equality State, and Utah’s Crossroads of the West. This set is a shining embodiment of the United States Mint’s commitment to quality and excellence.

A Proof set contains one of each the coins produced
in circulation for that year. To ensure the Beauty
and unique style of the Coin, the coins are fed
into a press which gives each coin a polished oily look,
showing fine detail of each coin. The result
of this process is the frosted image with a mirrored
background look. These coins are tightly sealed
in a handsome plastic case to protect the
coins from tarnishing. Each Proof
Coin set is minted with the San Francisco
mint mark "S" and comes with
a Certificate of Authenticity.
A Mint set is an Uncirculated set of two common mint marks,
Denver and Philadelphia. The Denver mint mark is a West coast
mint and the Philadelphia is an East coast mint.
This process of two mint marks for coins is to
show how many of each coin is in circulation throughout
the United States. Each mint set comes with two sealed plastic
packs containing the Denver and Philadelphia mints
in Uncirculated condition. Each Coin in the set are only
the coins produced for circulation in that year.

package are 90% silver and have frosted cameos just like the regular non silver proof sets.

Prestige sets contain a commemorative dollar and half dollar for that year

The production of Prestige Proof Sets was suspended with the last issued being 1997. Each set is encased in a book-like case and comes in a laminated box.
